Ceramic/Carbon vs. Nano/CXP

At Penske we are dedicated to providing only the highest quality products and services; we will never pad our profits by using the inferior tinting films you see on some vehicles.

We offer a premium Ceramic/Carbon film that provides superior heat and UV light rejection while maintaining maximum optical clarity. In addition, we carry a Nano/CXP Film which uses embedded nano-particle technology to create the highest possible level of infrared heat rejection.

We will never try to upsell you on something you do not need; talk to one of our friendly, knowledgeable, staff to find out which tinting film best suits the needs of you and your vehicle.

Q. What is window tint?
A. Window tinting is the process by which a solar control tinting film is applied to the interior surface of your automobile's window. This film can be made from a variety of materials, the most common is polyester; however, it is the thin layer of tinting agent bonded to this film that allows it to protect your vehicle from the sun's harsh rays.

There are countless combinations of film materials and tinting agents; make sure you know costs and benefits of each before selecting the product that best suits you and your vehicle's needs.

Q. How does window tint keep my vehicle cooler?
A. When you leave your vehicle outside in the sun, solar energy causes it to heat up inside just like a greenhouse. In order to understand how window tinting prevents this, it is necessary to understand that the sun's rays carry more than just one type of energy. We all know what visible light looks like, but it's the infrared light that causes most of the heat buildup inside our vehicles. Window tint separates the infrared light from the rest of the solar energy and reflects it back to the outside world.

Q. How long will it take to tint my windows?
A. Tinting the windows on a vehicle is a time consuming process; our experienced technicians take about 90 minutes to complete 4 side windows and a rear window on a normal vehicle. We use a computer controlled cutting system that uses the factory specifications of your vehicle, this allows us to match your windows with superior precision. Using this system we can tint a single window in around 15 minutes; however, the rear window takes slightly longer, and, as always, time must be allotted to safely move the vehicle to and from the appropriate work stations.

Q. Can you still tint my car if it is exotic or customized?
A. Yes, our technicians are trained to handle the unique difficulties inherent to high-end, exotic, and custom vehicles. Since these vehicles require hand-cut tint film, 4 side windows and a rear window take about 2 hours to complete.

Q. Are there any legal concerns I need to be aware of when choosing how to tint my car?
A. In Arizona, only the two front windows of an automobile are regulated; in order to ensure the driver remains visible from outside of a vehicle, the limit has been set at a VLT of 33%.

In the U.S., window tint regulations vary by state; only commercial vehicles are subject to federal oversight. Law enforcement agencies are primarily concerned with Visible Light Transmittance (VLT); this is the term used to describe how dark your tint is.  VLT rating refers specifically to the percentage of light that is able to pass through the tint film; the lower the number, the darker the tint.

Q. Is window tint safe for night driving?
A. As always, adapting to night driving takes care and awareness; however, you must use your own judgment when determining the level of on tint your windows. In Arizona the rear window and the rear side windows may be tinted as dark as you wish. Privacy tint is a desirable choice for some, but many drivers will find their rear view obstructed and may not wish to risk the severe reduction in visibility, even during the day.

Our technicians will be happy to show you samples of various tint levels so that you can make an informed decision before you buy.

Q. How long do I need to wait for my newly tinted windows to dry?
A. After 48 hours you can roll your windows up and down and wash them just like normal.

Q. Does it matter where I get my windows tinted?
A. Of course! Properly installed window tint requires skill, precision, and experience. The Penske technicians working on your vehicle are the same guys our high end and luxury dealerships trust every single time to prepare their vehicles for the showroom.

We will never pad our profits by using discount or low grade tinting film; we use only high grade SunTek products.

Q. Can I wash my tinted windows like normal?
A. Make sure you use ammonia –free cleaning products when washing tinted windows; also, avoid using any kind of abrasive sponge or sham to avoid scratching the tinting film.

Q. Can you tint my windshield and sun roof, as well as my windows?
A. In addition to side and rear windows, we are able to tint moon roofs, as well as single and multi-panel sun roofs.

For legal and safety reasons it is prohibited to tint the front windshield of any vehicle in Arizona; however, we CAN tint a strip across the top of your windshield to reduce glare.
